Innovation x 3

This week, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya·BarcelonaTech’s Technology Center (CIT UPC) will have been operating for three years. During this time, we have established a strong model of collaborative innovation, in which the 20 research and technology transfer centres that make up the UPC Technology Center have brought all their knowledge and experience to a common project, centered on the relationship between the university, the production sector and organizations in general.

This is CIT UPC’s raison d’être: to make the knowledge, developments and technologies generated by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya’s strong research activity available to public and private companies and organizations. This is an exciting task, involving the dedication of the more than 420 professionals who form part of the CIT UPC.

We provide technological and innovative solutions for all kinds of companies: multinationals, small and medium-sized enterprises, family companies, spin-offs and start-ups, among others. Of course, we also work with government departments and public companies. We are an ideal technological partner for all organizations seeking cross-cutting, expert, highly specialized support for innovation, and we create added value and help to differentiate our partners from the competition. Accordingly, we contribute to increasing the competitiveness of our clients and partners, and we aim to help them grow.

We work on a wide range of technological areas, including materials, energy, the environment, advanced production technology, ICT, medical and chemical technologies and food and nutrition. We have the technological support of the UPC in the fields of engineering, architecture and science; in all of which the University has a high reputation. We seek comprehensive technological solutions for companies by working with researchers from different fields in an extensive international network, which helps us to tackle complex projects.

We develop turnkey projects, which we are involved in from start to finish. In this process, we may develop prototypes, if necessary, or systems designed in detail to solve specific problems, and thus contribute to increasing productivity, cutting costs and generating new products and services or improving existing ones.

CIT UPC forms part of a system with feedback that we all fit into, to which we all contribute, and from which we all benefit. It is our contribution to social commitment.

We are best defined by the results of our work, and our success is that of those who collaborate with us.

CIT UPC, at the service of innovation.
